Top Disciplinary Reason Types (Past 5 Years)

Psychology licensing boards will review any formal written complaint about a psychologist’s services or behavior related to the practice of psychology and will take disciplinary action if they find evidence of incompetent, unprofessional sevices, unethical, unprofessional and/or illegal behavior. Psychology licensing boards may have differences in their laws and rules regarding the practice of psychology and licensed professionals.

Please note: Each disciplinary action may include multiple sanctions, including those not listed, such as supervision, mandatory continuing education, etc. Therefore, the total number of sanctions reported above does not equal the total number of disciplinary actions reported.
